Three Projects Recognized at the 2025 IIDA Columbus City Center Interior Design Awards

We’re proud to share that three WSA projects were recognized at the 2025 IIDA Columbus City Center Interior Design Awards, celebrating interiors that elevate experience, support learning, and strengthen the communities they serve.

From adaptive reuse and hospitality to K–12 and higher education environments, these projects reflect our belief that great interior design isn’t just about how a space looks, it’s about how it works, who it empowers, and what it makes possible.

Winner — “Play” Category

High Bank Distillery Co. – Westerville

What began as a rigid civic post office is now a layered hospitality experience that reconnects Uptown Westerville’s history with its present-day community. The design opens the building to the street, restores key historic elements, and transforms a once-isolated structure into a welcoming destination; one built for gathering, celebrating, and creating new memories.

Merit Award — K–12 Category

Global Impact STEM Academy (GISA) Upper Academy

This project transforms a straightforward building into an ecosystem for discovery. Specialized labs, flexible learning zones, and a central commons encourage collaboration across grades and disciplines, while the school’s location on Clark State College’s campus gives students direct access to higher education and emerging STEM pathways.

Merit Award — Higher Education Category

C-TEC Cosmetology Lab Renovation

This renovation reimagines a dated classroom as a working salon environment, complete with professional-grade equipment, concealed ventilation, durable materials, and flexible layouts that support both instruction and hands-on service. The result is a space where students build confidence, refine their skills, and prepare for a seamless transition into the beauty industry.
