Case Study: Global Impact STEM Academy - Upper Academy
Learning models change faster than buildings are typically designed to support.
Programs evolve. Disciplines overlap. Partnerships grow. What begins as a clear educational vision rarely stays static for long. At the Global Impact STEM Academy, that reality was already in motion as the Upper Academy took shape.
WSA was engaged to design an environment that could keep pace with that change. The goal was not to create space for a fixed curriculum, but to build an adaptable framework for project-based learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and future growth. Every decision was shaped by the understanding that how learning happens today will not be how it happens ten years from now.
Design for Change guided the work. Flexible labs, shared commons, and reconfigurable infrastructure allow the building to support shifting programs without resetting the space each time the model evolves.
This case study documents how those ideas moved from principle to built reality, and how architecture can support education that continues to grow, adapt, and expand over time.
