MILO’S DELI

Milo’s Deli transforms a historic Franklinton restaurant space into a contemporary neighborhood destination where everybody dining is elevated through spatial clarity, material craft, and layered experience.

COLUMBUS, OH, 2025

  • The project operates as a careful recalibration of an existing interior—working within the constraints of a historic industrial shell to introduce clarity, hierarchy, and flow. Rather than overhaul the space, the design focuses on a set of precise interventions that reorganize how it performs and how it is experienced.

Anchored by a re-energized bar, a central deli counter, and a series of varied seating environments, the project balances speed and pause, creating a space suited for both quick interaction and extended gathering. Subtle changes in elevation, enclosure, and material create a range of environments that support different modes of use without fragmenting the space. The result is an interior that feels open and legible, yet varied and adaptable.

Existing elements are retained selectively to ground the project in its context, allowing traces of the building’s history to remain visible within a contemporary framework. New materials introduce warmth and precision, balancing durability with an elevated, hospitality-driven atmosphere.
