HOLY TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church reimagined their worship space to bring congregation closer together while creating visible community presence, all while maintaining continuous worship during construction.

  • The design understands the existing T-shaped sanctuary's qualities rather than fighting them. This appreciation for architectural DNA informs strategy honoring heritage while addressing evolving needs.

New sanctuary positions are closer to the street, dramatically increasing visibility and community presence. Strategic relocation allowed congregation to continue worshiping in original space during construction. The new sanctuary eliminates division, creating a unified worship environment where the entire congregation feels connected.

Large windows showcase church activities to passersby, visually inviting community engagement. Spatial arrangements support various gathering sizes while maintaining acoustical quality and visual connection. Environmental graphics create a cohesive journey from street to sanctuary.

The transformed church strengthened community presence with increased participation in worship and outreach programs. Beyond serving the congregation, the renovated church became an active community resource hosting neighborhood events.
